When Chrissy and I first came to Atlanta, we quickly found it difficult to engage socially with other people. Being married at a young age of 21 slightly handicaps some of the social things you can do. All of the friends I had were single and in college, so you can image the lifestyle they lived was not appropriate for a married couple. Then we meet Chad & Lauren, a recently married young couple that were very likable and in a similar situation to ours.
Chad was in grad school for Engineering and Lauren was in school for Education (sound familiar?). We meet Chad and Lauren by attending a married couples small group at church. After an initial hesitation, we began building a wonderful friendship. Almost on a bi-weekly basis, we would get together over dinner and enjoy playing games like Catch Phrase.
One of the main reasons we were able to build such a strong relationship was because Lauren and Chrissy were very much in sync. On many occasions, Lauren and Chrissy would show up dressed alike and would often have the same opinions about topics.
Chad and I also shared similarities: we both are Engineers and members of Alpha Delta Pi (haha)!
In all seriousness, Chad and Lauren have moved to Ohio and will be stationed there for the next few years. We had an amazing year with them (+ Casper) and wish them the best of luck with everything they do. Additionally, we hope they don’t quickly find replacements for us because you never know when we might catch a plane to Ohio.

Thanks a lot blake for making me tear up again!! Geeze! We miss you guys so much up here!! I needed Chrissy to go with me to Target today….I was all alone : ( Hey I’m making porkchops with sweet potatoes and lima beans tomorrow…I know that’s y’all’s favorite! Be here at 6:30 k? lol. @Lauren: So did you decide on New York or Vegas?
Well..I thought we were waiting to see what y’all’s plans were….either one sounds like fun to me! New York will be colder for sure! But there might be more things to see there…. which means we would probably need an extra day or something. Las Vegas you could see everything in a few days… pretty neat though…never been there for new years….i wonder how cold it gets there during the winter time. We need to decide in the next few weeks though… what are your thoughts?
@Lauren: I am thinking New York. My family still hasn’t officially decided but I think everyone is up for NY. They are looking at going from Dec 26 till Dec 29. I would really like to stay through New Years so I would rather go Dec 29(30) through Jan 1 or something like that. How many days do you want to stay?
@Lauren: Now it is looking like my family will be going to Las Vegas. What do you guys think?
@Lauren: We never heard from you tonight. Still need to discuss this ASAP.
