Apple made some significant improvements to their Music lineup on September 12 with the release of iTunes 7, New iPod’s and a new gadget code named iTV. iTunes received a nicely designed upgrade to the interface and features different viewing modes that allows you to “rediscover” your music. All of the iPods received some kind of update including the shuffle. iTV seemed like a cool tool to get multimedia content from our computers to the living room but depending on it’s price point, it may be cheaper to just get a Mac mini and reap the full benefit of a computer on our large LCD TV screens.
According to a tip of information by Steve Beeks, President of Lions Gate, iTunes will be opening an iTunes Movie store and allow users to download full length films. In a recent press conference, Gate stated, “In terms of iTunes movie downloads, I think most likely some time before the end of the year. We know when they are planning on launching, but since they have not announced it publicly, I do not think it is our place to say anything more about that. Calendar year.”
Accoriding to an article I read this morning, Chineese sources are suggesting that a 64-bit MacBook Pro will ship this September. The new MacBook will enjoy the power of an Intel Merom CPU.
Apple hasn’t offically released any information about a new laptop. When they do, you know I’ll keep you posted.
Jobs started off this year’s WWDC with another great keynote. He introduced the new Mac Pro, shown below, made fun of Vista, and introduced 10 features that Leopard will have.
Shown below is the new Mac Pro desktop computer. It fits inside the same chassis as the Power Mac G5 but has lots more space inside.

Leopard was the main announcement for the event. Apple highlighted several key features they will be adding to their already world class OS.
Donelleschi Software has released an application called Sticky Windows that extends the “tab” experience to the desktop by allowing you to place tabs along side the desktop. Any window you have open in OS X can be placed as a tab just by dragging and dropping the window near the left, right, or bottom of the desktop.
If you need to bring up a tabbed window, click it once for it to appear and then click the tab again to re-tab it. If you want to remove a tab, click and drag the tab away from the edge.
